Church Board members serve in governance and accountability. They provide prayerful oversight, help steward resources wisely, and work alongside pastoral leadership to discern direction and maintain the church’s commitment to biblical values and long-term health.

Hello! I am Justin Martin and I have been a part of Journey since the beginning. It has been an amazing honor to serve this church in many capacities including: Journey Student Ministries (Navigate), Journey Kids (on staff), the tech team, small groups, Rooted, and for the last several years the Board of Directors (one year as president). While not at church I teach English at La Porte High School. In my free time I like to read, play board/video games, and spend time with my close friends and family.

Hello – I am Nicole Oscarson and I have been a part of Journey since 2019. I have had the privilege of serving in many capacities at Journey. I have served as Youth Pastor, I am a member of the Spiritual Leadership Team, I serve on the Worship team, and this is my second term on the Church Board.
My husband, Kyle, and I have two beautiful daughters and we live in Michigan City. I love baseball, spending times outdoors, and anything coffee related! It is a privilege to serve on the Board, and I am thankful for the opportunity to serve in this capacity.

Hello – I am Chris Taylor and I have followed Christ since I was a teenager and have been a Laporte resident and attended Journey since 2021. I enjoy my job as Assistant Controller for American Licorice Company and hanging out with my wife of 28 years. In my spare time I like spending time with my four grown children, playing pickleball, being in nature, and following sports (especially baseball).

Hello, I am Joel Annable and my wife, Denise, and I were both baptized in 2014 and started attending Journey Church in the fall of 2019. Immediately we felt welcomed, like being part of a large Christian family. We could see that the members of Journey loved Jesus and accepted people without judgement, and we waneted to be a part of this! Personally, I have helped lead teh men’s ministry for many years, served on the Church Board for over three years, the tech and greeting teams for six years, and completed many of the discipleship programs the Journey offers.

Hello I am Janet Oman. I have called Journey Church my family since July of 2016. I am blessed to currently serve on the board, worship leadership team, GriefShare ministry, funeral meal committee, worship team, and guest services.
I have been with the LaPorte School Corporation for 20 years, but I have been a librarian at an elementary school for the past nine years. I have many interests, but the one thing I am most passionate about is singing to our Lord and Savior.

I’m a friendly guy who loves people and good conversation. These days I’m focused on growing in Christ and learning to seek Him first. You could say I’m a God-fearing, Jesus-following, walk-in-the-Holy spirit kind of guy, just doing my best to follow where He leads one step at a time.

Hello, I am Rachel Hall and I am a licensed real estate broker and insurance agent. I have been married to Ryan for 28 years and I am “mom” to Abigail (23) and Amelia (20). I have attended Journey church since it was founded, have been a member for 10 years, and serve on the Guest Services team.

Hello, I am Katie Nesci and I live in New Buffalo with my husband Steve and two teen sons, Henry and Will. We are self employed designers by trade, using our love for creating beauty around us as a way to be creative and passionate stewards of God’s many blessings to us and others. In my spare time, when I’m not homeschooling or designing, I love reading, running, and snuggling my dogs. I’ve been with Journey Church since late 2023 and I am honored to be a part of the board, molding the vision and making decisions that help our church grow and thrive!

Hello, I am Brian Morros. My wife, Nikki, and I have been at Journey since 2025. I have lived in La Porte County my entire life. My wife and I have been married 29 years, and we have three children, Zack, Ayden, and Addysen, and two grandchildren. As for work, I am a project manager in South Bend for MTI. I serve on the worship team at Journey playing the drums. My wife and I have led a Rooted group, and we currently serve in the marriage ministry, where we desire to come along side marriages to help strengthen couples’ connection to Christ and each other. It is a privilege to serve on the board, and I look forward to what Christ has in store for Journey Church!

Hello – I am Phil King and I’ve been attending Journey Church since February 2023 and enjoy leading a Discipleship Group. In 2025, I began serving on the Journey Church Board, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to be part of what God is doing through our church community. Professionally, I’ve worked for Heston, Inc. for 34 years as General Manager, overseeing Heston Supper Club and Heston Hills. I’ve also been involved in serving our local community, including the New Prairie United School Corporation Board of Trustees since 2012, where I’ve served as Board President since 2021. I also serve with LaPorte Community Federal Credit Union as a board member since 2022 and Advisory Chair beginning in 2026.
I have one son, Matthew, who attends Journey Church with me and volunteers on the Tech Team.
